The Chakra System

The chart below explains how the chakras relate to the functioning of the body.  It shows how and where they spin, and the energy fields that surround the physical body. The first energy field that surrounds the physical body is called the "Etheric" body. Its location is 0.25 - 2" away from the skin. The second energy field is the "Emotional" body. Its location is about  1 -3" from the physical body.  It appears as clouds of rainbow colours in a continual fluid motion. The third energy field is the "Mental" body. It extends from 3 - 8" from the body representing mental ideas or thoughts. The fourth energy field is the "Spiritual" body. It is made up of four or more layers which help us relate to higher spiritual dimensions.  These fields extend to about 24" or more.  In very spiritually evolved persons, the aura can extend further.   #1 The first Chakra is the Root.  Located at the base of the spine and perennial floor. Purpose Survival or will to live Focus Grounding Colour Red Psychological Survival Emotion Stillness Gland Adrenal Body governed by Spinal column, kidneys, stress responses, feet & legs #2 The second Chakra is the Sacral.  Located at the mid-sacral lower abdomen, below the navel. Purpose Desire, pleasure, reproduction Focus Will to feel, to be emotional Colour Orange Psychological Desire, sexuality Emotion Tears Gland Gonads Body governed by Reproductive system, lower abdomen #3 The third Chakra is the Solar Plexus.   Located in the centre of the ribs, below the breast bone. Purpose Seat of the ego - self interest Focus Will to think (mental) Colour Yellow Psychological Will resulting in power Emotion Laughter, anger Gland Pancreas Body governed by Stomach, liver, gall bladder, upper abdomen       #4 the fourth Chakra is the Heart.   Located between the shoulder blades at the heart. Purpose Transformer Focus Love, radiance Colour Green Psychological Love resulting in balance Emotion Loving Gland Thymus Body governed by Heart, blood, vagus nerve, circulatory system, arms, chest, hands #5 The fifth Chakra is the Throat.   Located at the base and center of the throat. Purpose Will to express Focus Higher emotions Colour Blue Psychological Communication Emotion Expressing or grieving Gland Parathyroid, thyroid Body governed by Bronchial, vocal, lungs, ears, respiratory system #6 The sixth Chakra is the Third Eye.   Located between the eyebrows at the center of the brow. Purpose The seat of the mind, centre of personality Focus Visioning, compassion, wisdom Colour Purple Psychological Intuition, imagination, clairvoyance Emotion Dreaming Gland Pituitary Body governed by Lower brain, eyes, nose, nervous system #7 The seventh Chakra is the Crown.   Located at the top of the head. Purpose The seat of the soul Focus Higher will or knowing Colour White Psychological Understanding, oneness, knowing Emotion Bliss Gland Pineal Body governed by Upper brain
